We hope this proposal will be a landmark of the Prime Minister's vision for a greater community empowerment and localism.

Big Society landmark The Peoples Port would show what a great difference the Big Society could make. This is an offer worth hundreds of millions of pounds. A project is all about us getting together to fight poverty and deprivation. We hope to forge our prosperity anew. Our community has seen too little jobs and money in recent times and we want to change that.

A new philosophy The philosophy is one of communitisation and localism, in line with the policies of the Coalition Government. In the 1940s we had nationalisation. The 1980s saw privatisation. The new communitisation would capture the collective spirit of nationalisation and the thirst for excellence of privatisation. Rather than "millions for the few" that have characterised privatisations in the past decade, it would see social benefit for the many and a sense of joint community empowerment within a private structure seeking to maximise efficiencies and improvements.
